How to Get Started · Basic Steps
1 – Create a free account at bandlab.com
Sign up with email or your Google account. No payment information required. You’re in immediately.
2 – Click Create → New Project → Studio
This opens the Mix Editor — BandLab’s multi-track recording interface. This is where you’ll do everything.
3 – Add a track and select your input
Click the + button, choose your track type (guitar, vocal, instrument), and select your input device — your audio interface, pocket amp via USB, or laptop microphone.
4 – Enable monitoring and check your levels
Turn monitoring on in the track settings. Plug in headphones. Play something. Aim for signal hitting -12dB to -6dB peak — not the red zone.
5 – Hit Record and start building
Set your tempo, enable the metronome if you need it, and record your first track. Add more tracks on top. Mix levels. Apply effects. Export when done.
