If you’ve been reading this blog for some time now, you know that I’ve been using the K12 Bluetooth Karaoke Mini Speaker as my guitar amp.

It works but it does have its limitations.

I still have to turn on a lot of things just so I can get some decent guitar practice time on. I’ve been so tempted to buy the Enya Nova Go Sonic for a long time now for the simple purpose of having an electric guitar that I no longer have to plug into multiple things just to enjoy it.

And it seems like I may just have found the solution in the LEKATO JA-05G Mini Electric Guitar Amp.

The JA-05G is one of those tiny gadgets that promises to make your playing routine way more convenient.

It’s a 5-watt pocket-sized amp with built-in effects, Bluetooth audio playback, and a rechargeable battery—basically everything you need for on-the-go practice without hauling a full amp around.

Pocket-Sized Design for Anywhere Practice

The most obvious strength of the JA-05G is its size. At 2″ x 4.7″ x 4.7″, the device is genuinely small enough to slip into your pocket or backpack.

Whether you’re traveling, staying in a hotel, chilling at a park, or sneaking in practice between errands, this little thing is built for convenience. It’s lightweight too, so you can even hang it directly on your guitar without feeling weighed down.

And because it’s a plug-and-play device with a 6.35mm built-in plug, you don’t deal with cables at all.

Just stick it into your guitar, twist the plug to fit the angle you need, and you’re good to go.

Surprisingly Loud for Its Size

Even though it’s tiny, LEKATO gave the JA-05G enough power for real practice sessions. The 5W speaker delivers adequate volume for personal use.

Of course, you’re not going to use this in a band setup or noisy environment, but for bedroom sessions, warm-ups, backstage practice, or noodling around the house—it does the job.

Four Built-In Effects to Keep Things Fun

For something this small, the JA-05G packs in four essential effects:

  • Clean (Green light)
  • Overdrive (Yellow light)
  • Distortion (Red light)
  • Reverb (hold the button for 3 seconds)

Switching between them uses a simple tap or long press on the effect button, and you get basic control via:

  • Tone knob – adjusts treble
  • Volume knob – adjusts loudness

Are these full amp-modeling effects?

Of course not.

But they give you enough variety to keep your practice sessions interesting, especially when you’re away from your main gear.

Bluetooth Audio for Jamming With Backing Tracks

One of the killer features at this price and size is the Bluetooth audio function. When connected to your phone or device, the amp can play music so you can jam along with backing tracks or your favorite songs.

Important to note:
It only works for music playback. It does not support Bluetooth headphones or Bluetooth speakers.

Still, being able to play along with music on such a tiny device makes practice a lot more enjoyable.

Rechargeable Battery With 6 Hours of Play Time

The Lekato JA-05G lasts up to 6 hours on a full charge, which is more than enough for daily practice.

No need to buy disposable batteries or look for a power outlet when playing outside.

Just remember to use a 5V 2A charger to avoid damaging the unit. Pretty important to remember if you charge using random adapters around the house.

Flexible Plug Fits Different Guitars

The rotating plug design helps it fit different electric guitar models. This might sound like a small detail, but for a device that hangs off the guitar body, getting the right angle matters. It keeps the amp secure and comfortable while you play.

The LEKATO JA-05G is basically a fun, practical tool for guitarists who want a no-hassle way to practice anytime, anywhere.

You get a decent set of effects, Bluetooth audio, pocket-sized portability, and simple controls.

It’s not a stage amp, it’s not a high-end modeler—but it does exactly what it promises: a super portable, rechargeable 5W practice amp you can throw in your pocket and use anywhere.

If you just want something straightforward for practice and portability, this little guy gets the job done.

I tried it paired with the Sonicake Pocket Master and with a little maneuvering, it fits. The only reason why it doesn’t normally fit is because my wireless guitar receiver unit from Ammoon also takes up too much space.

But it works just like the K12 speaker and now I can finally use the K12 for singing and not for playing guitar with.
