I recently started using my K12 Bluetooth Karaoke Speaker as a mini guitar amplifier by connecting it to my Sonicake Pocket Master, and to my surprise, it works well for simple home practice.

The funny thing is that this device isn’t marketed as a guitar amp at all—it’s mainly a portable karaoke speaker—but its specs make it capable of doubling as a small, convenient practice solution.

This could be something that a musician on a budget can use instead of buying a larger amplifier that costs more than they should be spending.

The price? Php 200? Or was it 300? I know I didn’t spend much for it but the fun my son and I had with it? Oh priceless!

Here are some more reasons why you should consider getting one of these small Bluetooth karaoke speakers whether for singing or for playing guitar with.

Compact and Easy to Use

This speaker is lightweight at just 0.6 kg and measures 17 × 11 × 15 cm, making it easy to place on a desk or carry around the house.

It also uses a USB Type-C power supply and has a built-in lithium battery that offers up to 6 hours of play time, which matches perfectly with lightweight practice sessions.

Good Connectivity Options

For guitar practice using the Sonicake Pocket Master, I simply connect through the speaker’s AUX input.

The K12 supports AUX/TF/USB and Bluetooth 5.0, with an effective range of about 10 meters if you decide to play backing tracks wirelessly from your phone.

It’s designed for karaoke, so it also comes with 2 microphones, but those stay in the box when I’m using it as a guitar speaker.

For Something so Small, it’s Surprisingly Loud

The K12 features two speaker units with an output power of 10–20W, which is more than enough for personal practice at home.

The signal-to-noise ratio of ≥60dB helps keep the sound clean enough for a device not originally meant for instruments.

While the frequency response of 90Hz–18kHz isn’t full-range and definitely not guitar-amp-tuned, it still handles the Sonicake Pocket Master’s effects well for everyday playing.

Just be mindful though about your volume because the more you crank it up, the more it’s going to distort. It’s a small speaker. What do you expect?

Just use it for close-proximity practice and you should be fine.

For Less Than Php 500, This Bluetooth Speaker Works Very Well

Because it’s small, battery-powered, and easy to operate with simple press-button controls, the K12 fits naturally into a compact, mobile practice rig. What I appreciate most is the convenience—just plug the Sonicake into the AUX port, turn the speaker on, and start playing.

The K12 Bluetooth Karaoke Speaker will not replace a dedicated guitar amplifier, but as a portable practice speaker, it does the job surprisingly well.

With its AUX input, Bluetooth 5.0, 10–20W output, 6-hour battery life, and compact size, it becomes a small, practical solution for guitarists using multi-effects like the Sonicake Pocket Master.

I also tried this with my Zoom G5n and it worked like a charm.

If you already own this speaker for karaoke, using it as a mini guitar amp is a simple and convenient bonus feature you might not expect—but it works.

Oh and it can also handle some vocal yowling if you ever decide to use it for what it’s meant to be which is for singing your heart out on a  Sunday afternoon, disturbing your neighbors until they call the police on you.

We got reported because we used it on full blast with the vocal effects on which comes as a special feature of this Bluetooth speaker.

Also works well if you connect it to your mobile device and stream Netflix or Disney + movies or even Spotify.
