The Roots of Wolfed Tour

Last year, I witnessed the first-ever Wolfed Tour. What began as a simple birthday gig unexpectedly turned into a gathering of numbers. For many, it felt like a rite of passage for the new generation of the heavier music scene in Davao.

It wasn’t just about celebrating one man’s birthday. Instead, it became a night where bands, kids, and collectives shared the same floor in raw, unfiltered solidarity.

A Bigger Stage in 2025

Now in 2025, the tour is back — louder, broader, and more intentional. Organized by James Manalastas (a.k.a. Wolf Quorthon) of Dead Beats Entertainment, Wolfed Tour ‘25 will unfold across three Saturdays in September. Each date carries its own energy, genre focus, and purpose.

  • Day 1: Breakdown PartySeptember 6, Suazo Rooftop Bar
Expect metalcore, hardcore, and nu metal bands from across Mindanao.
  • Day 2: The RevolutionSeptember 13, Other Side Restobar
A genre-fluid mix tied with advocacy, created in collaboration with local orgs and community groups.
  • Day 3: Cool DownSeptember 20, D’Basement Davao
A more intimate night of shoegaze, alt-rock, and singer-songwriters, co-presented by ISRA Productions.

A DIY Spirit That Lives On

What sets Wolfed Tour apart is its DIY roots. Born from the underground, it isn’t about ego or spotlight. Instead, it’s about creating a space where artists can be heard. Scenes collide, friendships form, and community grows in real time.

As Wolf explains:

“We started this as a one-nighter birthday party — now it’s a full-on platform. It’s still for the community, still DIY, and still all heart — just bigger, more intentional, and more inclusive this time around.”

TRASHBUNK and the New Gen

This year, TRASHBUNK (my own band) joins the lineup alongside Wolf’s projects and other special guests from around Mindanao. But the heart of the event is never about who headlines. It’s about what the gathering represents: the independent pulse of Davao’s underground music.

With each leg offering a different sound and message, Wolfed Tour ‘25 is shaping up to be more than just a series of gigs. It is becoming an institution for the underground, where the old guard and the new generation meet, clash, and create something uniquely ours.

Countdown to September

The countdown has begun. Three nights, three stages, and one community — Wolfed Tour ’25 is about to take over September.
