Cotton Candy are:
Angelikus – Vocals
Joseph – Lead Guitar
Jack – Rhythm Guitar
Jay – Bass
Shem – Drums
Cotton Candy was formed when Joseph and Shem wanted to start a 90s alternative music band fronted by a female vocalist. Both guys were members of the band Skiptown before it disbanded.
Shem then went on to play for other bands, most notably, Tamad Si Juan.
Let’s Go Ask Around
Joseph asked Shem to look for a female vocalist who understood the specific music they were into.
Shem eventually found one when Vipera, an all- female metal band, performed at Gio’s Crib. He approached the band’s bassist Angelikus who was once a vocalist and a child of the 90s. He offered her the position and the vision of the band project he was working on to which she immediately accepted with delight.
It was only a matter of time when Shem and Joseph gathered Jay, former bassist of Skiptown, and Jack, former session guitarist of the same band, to complete the band project.
The name of the band Cotton Candy was derived from the nostalgic feeling of being a 90s kid. Cotton candy was everyone’s favorite thing in the past. I mean who doesn’t love Cotton Candy right?
Hence, the choice of the band name.
What’s A Cotton Candy Experience Like?
You can’t deny a good band when you see one. And Cotton Candy is one hell of a good band.
Angelikus has a powerful set of pipes. As a frontwoman, she manages to captivate the crowd.
Here’s a sample of her singing:
Everyone knows that the Jay and Shem tandem is a solid foundation that any guitarist can play over without worrying about anything. Jack and Joseph are both masters on their instruments.
This is a power quartet that have already proven they have the chemistry needed to provide a powerful show. Adding Angelikus to the mix is the last ingredient that drives this band over the top.
Let’s hope this ECQ ends so we can finally get to see them onstage again.
