Quora is a Davao-based band who made it to the Muziklaban Aklas category semi-finals. But that’s not the end of the story, in fact, for these boys, it’s the start of something really good. And we, as a whole can contribute to their story by being supportive.
So, Who’s Quora?
Quora is a relatively new band that’s making waves in the local scene. Their current achievement, getting into the Red Horse Muziklaban semi-finals puts them on the verge of gaining a massive tidal wave of good fortune.
And all we have to do is ride that wave with them by being supportive?
What’s in it for you?
Well, nothing really except that surge of pride you’ll feel when the competition winds down to who gets crowned champions. Hopefully they’ll name Quora and Project Satellite as new kings of the throne.
But it will only work if you put 100% support into it.
That means, not thinking about yourself, but thinking more of how good fortune will affect these boys and feeling good about it.
Now Quora isn’t just a band of new kids who just learned how to play yesterday. In fact, they’ve been slogging in the local scene for a few years now. The band members are also accomplished musicians in their own right with singer-songwriter Zyrel Ranain leading the group.
Behind him is Wolf Quorthon who handles guitar duties to back Zyrel as the secondary focal point onstage. Wolf lives up to his namesake by being the wild man onstage as evidenced by the photos you see below.
This kid has the charisma to keep eyes glued to stage with his inventive licks and wild er… wolf persona onstage. I always say you should also look the part if you want to be wildly successful. His lanky figure, wild mop of hair and rock and roll moves will carry him far.
An Earnest Plea
Hi, hello!
We’re more than stoked to let everyone know AGAIN that our band, QUORA, has qualified for the Red Horse Beer Muziklaban Semi-Finals, which will take place in Cagayan de Oro this coming October 26! This opportunity means that we’re representing DAVAO CITY out there. This also means the world to us and we’re so grateful to everyone who has supported us along the way.
However, we do need some extra help to make this journey possible. We’re looking for sponsors who can assist us with our transportation (might as well try our luck with gear sponsorships) as we travel to compete. If you or anyone you know would be willing to lend a hand or partner with us, we’d be more than grateful! Any form of support would be highly and equally appreciated!
Every bit of your support means so much, and we can’t wait to keep doing what we love with your help. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for believing in us!
For any inquiries, please feel free to DM our managers/handlers Mae Quillas and Kael Bhyadogg or contact our page directly via Messenger.
We also have upcoming fundrasing shows this week, so stay tuned!
Shukran and much love!

The Muziklaban Lakas and Aklas Category
I was 20 when Muziklaban first came out and back then, there was only one category. Everyone competed for the top spot which meant a metal band could go up against a jazz band and the results depended on who was able to get more votes.
In 2018, they split the competition into 2 categories to give bands more chances to win. This time, heavy metal bands could go up against heavy metal bands in the Lakas category and not so heavy bands, could have a chance to gain the top spot in the Aklas category.
Splitting the competition into these two categories was a wise decision. I hope the competition will be split further to give more bands in different genres a chance to win. Because let’s face it, a pop band going up against a hard rock band might not go over to well with the audience in attendance.
Let’s Go Take the Boys from Quora and Project Satellite to CDO!
And so, on October 26, 2024, two bands from our city are going to CDO to bag the much-coveted entry to the Muziklaban Finals.
And if past performances from notable acts coming from the city are any indication of our chances of winning, then Quora and Project Satellite are in good company. Bands like Jack in the Box, David Vs Goliath, MOAWH, Cross-T26, Redeemed by the Blood have managed to gain nationwide recognition based on their performances.
We as a city can help by providing Quora and Project Satellite that core audience that bolsters their performance to the next level with our support.
Of course, financial support goes a long way. These bands need the necessary funds to secure a vehicle to bring them to CDO. Aside from that, they’ll need some food and money for accommodation.
Now just imagine if we can get at least 100 people to donate 100 pesos. That means the boys will have Php 10,000.00 at their disposal. So, dig into your pockets and throw some money in.
