CRIMSON FOG productions presents GREEN DAY NIGHT!
An amazing tribute or the band Green Day held at Zero 82 organized by Addy from “SKEWER CLOTHING”, Melo-Death metal band “Remnants of Catacombs” and his recently formed band “CALI NONE” (I see what you did there ) and Zyl!
The following event and bands :
poster design by Hot diggity damn guy “Leaf”
A huge thanks to Gido for making the Green Day Night event possible and for those who attended and supported the local bands who played for the awesome night!
The Green Day night was getting a little late, it was already 9:00pm and somehow we were getting worried until Zyl, the host of the entire show did some wacky jokes to keep our spirits alive.
He was absolutely a god among men while he was hosting .
Now I know that the secret of being a great host, just one good bottle of Beer! haha
The other band finally arrived with the instruments and “WAKE BILLIE UP” (no puns intended) the first band, the newbies and the young bloods were going to finally play.
Never heard of that band? That’s because they are the new kids who are gonna rock in the long run! (hopefully) A new face, a fresh start, their ever first gig following my footsteps as their elder sibling. (awww, shut up)
Their performance and setup was very Nostalgic. Kinda reminded me of my first gig as WRONG CHILDREN at Zero 82 when it was still ZLeaf :
Oh boy, I cringe and laugh at the same time when I remember this.
Despite their first time experience shining all over the place, one thing we can appreciate the most is their courage and their guts to CONTINUE PLAYING and Hey I even sang along with their songs, they definitely left a mark on the stage and like a seed hopefully it will grow and bloom like a flower in the dawn~
Their opening with “Last Night on Earth” was fair enough for a start then goes “Macy’s Day Parade” and ended beautifully with “21 Guns” (The one i sang together with them)
“Wake Billie Up” Piper (Vocals), Leq (Bassist), Khamir & Ryan (Guitars), Christopher (Drums)
Next on the list was the one who fueled the event with a spark.
Unfortunately TEMPORALS wasn’t able to make it (too bad though, I wanted to see them) and somehow HABEAS CORPSE was still on their way so we needed to keep the engine running while the crowd was waiting for more Green Day songs.
“DOROTHY MUST DIE” ft. ME as their front man was next!
Started of with “Welcome To Paradise” we wanted to spice it up with a “WELCOME” (get it? okay you can close your browser now.) nailed that “Waiting”, got a little emotional with “Wake Me Up With September Ends” (i even cracked lol) , got a little sexy with “F*** time” , the song that nobody even expected that it was a Green Day song and finished it off with our own version with “Boulevard of broken Dreams” and this song you just CANNOT stop Sam from shredding!
DOROTHY MUST DIE’s performance (aside from me) was amazing even I enjoyed it !
“DOROTHY MUST DIE ft. WRONG CHILDREN” Sam & Me (Guitars), Cluds (Bassist), Yev(Hunk/Drums)
As a bonus we messed up our request song of “Basket Case” with Addy singing haha
I know no other band will play that song so we decided to say “screw it” and jammed it anyway!
The band and Addy doing our best to play the song.
Next band was HABEAS CORPSE their front man KD from WE KILLED SAMANTHA absolutely nailed Billie Joe’s voice and it was almost identical!
Starting off with “Holiday” every body was already in awe from KD’s vocals and their other members performance especially with their next song “American Idiot”.
I gotta say it was “moving” I literally danced in front of them if only I have the damn clip!
Their final touch was “Jesus Of Suburbia” as what others would say the Anthem of Punk Rock, (forgive me Gatekeepers and elitists)
me, Addy and Zyl sang and dance along together like the happy kids we are, for me it was a dream come true witnessing the song played live while dancing with people I can trust haha
HABEAS CORPSE totally rocked that performance and it was a total blast! CHEERS and a HUGE thanks to their friends and buddies for inviting me to drink after the show! (pssst.. their main guy is a huge WEEB like me)
“HABEAS CORPSE” Farhana , Rick , Mong frenzy, John , Ryan
Now for the final band, the final countdown, the one we have been waiting for.. GIVE IT UP FOR “CALI NONE”
…
Wait.. who now?
Oh yeah
Like I mentioned at the very top (if you weren’t cramming)
“CALI NONE” was the name of the band Addy just came up with for this specific event and soon we will be hearing more of the band in the future hopefully!
Addy absolutely nailed the outfit, the stances, the singing and even the way Billie sings while not using his guitar (lol) starting off with “Nice Guys, Finish Last” (Again, I see what you did there) we know this was gonna be the Sh**!
Then it followed up with “Let Yourself Go”, had us rolling with “East Jesus Nowhere”.
They picked up a debris in the canals and have him sing “Longview” with them (Thanks guys) which we totally nailed it haha
“Take me away to paradise”
Me and Zyl even sang along with their last song “The Static Age” which was a very underrated song in their “21st Century Breakdown” Album, their performance was great and overall amazing.
“CALI NONE” Miko & Addy (Guitars)
Now…
Finally as the curtains were gonna close,
The spotlight was still lit~
Addy did a final song with “Good Riddance (Time of your Life)” it was one of the most uplifting endings I have ever witnessed.
Addy & Zyl performing “Good Riddance(Time Of Your Life)” Ft. Me as their Air Drummer
It was the perfect song for the closing of the event.
It was once again an amazing event.
I know it is not as huge as Green Day’s concert performing in Manila in March 2020, but at least this was absolutely beautiful and an experience I will never forget.
For the cherry on top, we did a selfie with bands and fans!
Beautiful
Just like Addy’s last song performance;
“It’s something unpredictable, but in the end it’s right…” And definitely, absolutely we had the time of our lives~
GREEN DAY NIGHT
Additional Thanks to Zege Maturan, Gido & Zero 82 once again for making the event possible and Skewer Clothing.
AND A REMINDER:
Stay possitive ! Don’t be that party pooper and just enjoy!
