Welp. June is done. And I’m terribly going to miss it… because of the sheer number of gigs that the Davao crowd got to enjoy this past month, largely thanks to Fête de la Musique doing what it does every June 21.
Is July going to be as vibrant as June?
Fête de la Musique Davao was, as always, the kind of event that reminds you why you care about this scene. Free entry, multiple venues, all genres, the whole city suddenly more musical than usual.
If you missed it this year, I genuinely feel bad for you.
Set a reminder for June 21, 2027 now.
Don’t miss it again.
But June is behind us.
July is here.
And already, within the first few days of the month, there are gigs on the calendar that are worth circling.
We currently have five events listed on the gigs and events page… and the one happening tomorrow is the one I most want to talk about.

Faspitch: 20 Years of The Future of Ear Repair
Live in Davao

July 2, 2026 · 6:00 PM · The Commons MTS
Twenty years. Two decades. That’s how long Faspitch has been at this and the anniversary show is happening right here in Davao at The Commons MTS tomorrow night.

Who Is Faspitch?
Formed in 2000, Faspitch is Henry Allen on vocals, Russell Manaloto and Patrick “Trick” Berganos on guitars, Trevor Bicknel on bass, and Pacco “Peekaboo” Manreal on drums. Their debut album was called The Future of Ear Repair — which is where tonight’s show title comes from — released under Lighter Records in 2005 after they signed on April 1 of that year. Before the album, they were already building a following through early singles like “Staying This Way” and “A Day Before Pisces,” the latter appearing on the EMI compilation FULL VOLUME alongside labelmates Urbandub and The Ambassadors.
In 2008 they represented the Philippines at the Baybeats Festival in Singapore as one of Sonic Boom’s pioneering bands… which is the kind of thing that tells you a lot about where they stood in the OPM alternative scene at that time. They’ve been doing this for twenty years and the fact that they’re celebrating that milestone right here in Davao — and that three solid local support acts are on the bill with them — makes this a genuinely important night for the scene.
As for the media partners — are.they, Morire per Creare, and Cinedashery East — expect the visual documentation of this night to be excellent. All three have a track record that speaks for itself. If you can’t make it, at least you’ll have something worth watching on your feeds afterward.
Emonite 2.0

July 11, 2026 · 7:00 PM · Presented by Muzicartel
I have no words other than the words they used to describe their own event because when a gig’s own promotional copy is good enough, there’s nothing left to add.
Muzicartel knows what they’re doing.
If Emonite 2.0 is anything like the original, people are going to be talking about this one for a while.

Tamad Si Juan Live in Malita

July 11 · Malita, Davao Occidental
TSJ heads to Malita, Davao Occidental on the 11th, which coincidentally falls on the same night as the Emonite 2.0 event.
Two shows, two locations, same night — which means if you’re in Davao City the Emonite show is your call, and if you’re out west then TSJ in Malita is where to be.
This is also a good reminder that the Davao music scene isn’t just Davao City. Mindanao is big and bands are playing across it. Malita is worth the trip if you’re anywhere near that side of the province.
Total Noise Decay · Punx on the Beach

July 25 · Catagman Beach, Samal Island · 1PM – 12 Midnight
Okay this is the one that sounds absolutely unhinged in the best possible way. Twenty bands. From 1PM to midnight. On a beach in Samal. That’s eleven hours of live music on sand with presumably the sea behind whoever is performing at any given moment. I don’t know who decided to combine a punk and alternative gig format with a beach location but whoever it was understood the assignment completely.
Twenty bands is a lot of bands. That’s a proper festival-scale lineup and the fact that it’s happening on Samal rather than in the city adds a whole different energy to it. If you’ve been wanting an excuse to cross the straits this July, Punx on the Beach on the 25th is that excuse.

We’re still looking for more gigs and events to feature on the page. If you have a show coming up — in Davao City, somewhere else in Mindanao, anywhere in the region — send us the gig poster, the details, and any other information you want included.
We want to support Davao music and Mindanao music and artists as a whole and the gigs page is one of the ways we try to do that. The more you send us, the more we can cover. It’s that simple.
Send Us Your Gig
Got a show coming up in July or beyond? We want to feature it. Gig poster, date, venue, lineup, any other details — send them our way via Facebook message or email and we’ll get it on the page.
We’re also planning solo venue features for all the spaces mentioned on this page — so people know what to expect before they show up. More on that soon.

And while you’re here — check out the blog for gig reviews, gear reviews, music lessons, band features, and a lot more. Want to be featured? Send us a PM or drop an email. We’d love to hear from you.
