Overview
The Enya Cyber G represents an innovative approach to travel guitar design and is one of the newest additions to Enya Global Music’s growing line of products.
As an amateur keyboardist and keytar fanatic, the Enya Cyber G Guitar is definitely appealing to someone like me.
Design & Build Quality
The most striking feature of the Cyber G is its avant-garde aesthetic. The guitar sports a minimalist body design that looks like something out of a science fiction movie. The Carbon Fiber construction, while unconventional, provides several advantages:
- Exceptional durability and resistance to temperature/humidity changes
- Lightweight construction ideal for travel. Weighs only 2 kg!
- Body dimensions: 407*53*29 mm (neck) , 420*203*80 mm (body) , 793*297*81 mm (whole set)
- Modern, industrial appearance that sets it apart from traditional instruments
Playability & Comfort
The Cyber G features a comfortable C-shaped neck profile and, I’m assuming, a standard scale length despite its compact size.
The beveled body edges and ergonomic design make it comfortable for extended playing sessions. The built-in arm rest helps maintain proper playing position without fatigue.
The Enya Cyber-G also has pre-installed guitar strap pins. And in the box, they also included a guitar strap as well as the semi-rigid travel case, Charger, a USB-C to USB-C cable, a Quick start guide, and wait for it… Stickers!
Additionally, you can remove the keyboard module and play it as a separate Bluetooth keyboard or MIDI controller. (This was actually something I wished that the keytars offered by Yamaha and Roland would have.)
Having the ability to separate the keys from the entire guitar body makes it easier and more comfortable to lay down on a table or a stand to play with.
Sound Quality
The 10-watt tweeter and 20-watt woofer, onboard speaker is more than loud enough for playing in a small room. The Enya Cyber-G speaker also offers:
- Clear, balanced tone with good note definition
- Surprising sustain considering its compact size
- A respectable amplified sound
- USB connectivity for direct recording
Features & Innovation
Several modern features set the Cyber-G apart:
- Built-in effects processor and comes with 20 different instrument sounds including:
- Piano
- Electric piano
- Electric guitar
- Lead synth
- Nylon guitar

- Rechargeable battery system. Comes with a 3400 mAh battery. Charging it to full can be done in 2 hours which will allow you to play 5 hours if you use the onboard speaker and 10 if you play through an external amp.
- Bluetooth connectivity for wireless practice
- Also has an onboard rum and bass accompaniment system to really let you have a fun time practicing or playing live.
- Detachable frame system for easy transport
- Included mobile app integration with songs you can play along with.
Value & Price Point
Positioned in the mid-range market segment, the Cyber G offers good value considering its innovative features and build quality. The included gig bag and accessories enhance the overall package.
Pros
- Innovative, space-saving design
- Excellent build quality and durability
- Comprehensive modern features
- Good playability
- Travel-friendly weight and size
Cons
- Unconventional looks may not appeal to traditionalists
- Limited volume if played in larger venues and with more people in the audience
- Digital features have a learning curve but once you get over the initial difficulties, this has the potential to be a fun instrument that you might not be able to put down.
- Price point may be high for casual players
Verdict
The Enya Cyber-G is a compelling option for tech-savvy guitarists who prioritize portability and modern features. While it won’t replace a full-sized keyboard or keytar with 37 keys, it excels in its intended role as a travel instrument.
The innovative design and feature set make it particularly appealing to players who embrace modern technology and appreciate forward-thinking instrument design.
Perfect for: Tech-enthusiastic guitarists, frequent travelers, recording artists needing a portable solution May not suit: Traditionalists or purists, seeking traditional instruments with full acoustic volume, or budget-conscious beginners
With All the Shade Thrown Towards Keytar Players, Why Would You Still Want to be a Keytar Player?
The keytar offers some fascinating and unique advantages as an instrument! As a keyboard-guitar hybrid, it gives performers remarkable freedom of movement while maintaining the full capabilities of a synthesizer.
Unlike traditional keyboard players who are anchored in place, keytar players can move around the stage and interact with the audience, adding a dynamic visual element to their performance.
From a musical perspective, the keytar allows performers to execute classic keyboard techniques while standing and moving, which opens up interesting possibilities for stage presence and showmanship.
The instrument also often includes additional performance controls like pitch bend wheels and modulation strips that are easily accessible while playing, giving musicians expressive control similar to what guitarists enjoy.
Some practical benefits include:
- The ability to be part of the frontline of a band rather than being stuck behind a keyboard rig
- Easier transport compared to full-size keyboards
- The option to switch between lead and rhythm parts while maintaining mobility
- A distinctive visual aesthetic that stands out, especially in genres like synthpop, new wave, and funk
The keytar also carries a certain retro-futuristic cool factor that’s become increasingly appreciated in recent years, as artists have embraced both its functional advantages and its unique cultural associations.
