Dorothy Must Die. But why most Dorothy die?
Bands coming into the scene are getting younger.
Well, they say that everyone should start out young.
A fine example is the band Dorothy Must Die hailing from Davao City.
They may look young, but they can certainly pull off a show.
I saw them play some cover songs at Gio’s Crib, but what fascinated me was their song titled “If”.
The song has a post-rock/emo kind of vibe to it and is accompanied by killer riffs, powerful drums and bass, and kick-ass vocals. Will we be hearing from them soon? I don’t know yet.
But one thing for sure is that they are preparing their own songs for their next gigs to come.
Green Day Night
Dorothy Must Die, played at the Green Day Night gig. That was a fun night and they contributed a lot to the energy in Zero82 Lokal.
These Guys Seriously Have To Up Their Stage Game Though
Dorothy Must Die may be a good band but there’s just one thing that they need to do as a team. They need to up their stage game.
Although being good on your respective instruments is a definite pre-requisite, dressing up is also part of the game if you really want to make it big.
You just can’t show up looking like you just got out of bed. Well, unless that’s the type of vibe that you’re going for.
If you want to be punk, at least put on some effort to looking the part. There are many punk bands in Davao that Dorothy Must Die can take their cue from. I bet a lot of those bands will go out of their way to show them how to do it.
